Who this covers, and in what role
WasilX (“we”) provides a client-intake and revenue-recovery tool that UK law firms use to capture, qualify, and follow up with prospective clients. This page covers two different relationships, because our role changes depending on who you are:
- If you’re a law firm evaluating or using WasilX (e.g. you submitted the pilot request form on our marketing site): WasilX is the controller of that contact data — your name, firm name, email, phone, and message — and uses it solely to respond to your enquiry.
- If you contacted a law firm that uses WasilX (by phone, form, chat, or email): the law firm is the controller of your personal data. WasilX acts as their processor— we handle your enquiry strictly on that firm’s instructions, under a Data Processing Agreement with the firm. Questions about your data in this case should go to the firm you contacted; they remain responsible for your relationship and can direct us on their processor obligations.
What we collect
Depending on the channel you reach a firm through, this can include:
- Name, phone number, email address
- The content of your enquiry (call transcript, form message, SMS/email text)
- Metadata about the enquiry: which matter type it relates to, when it came in, and how it was routed
We do not ask you for information beyond what’s needed to route and respond to your enquiry, and we do not use it for advertising or sell it to third parties.
Where your data is hosted
Our infrastructure is hosted in the UK/EU. Data does not leave the region in normal operation. We use a small set of sub-processors (telephony, application database, hosting, and an AI language-model provider) to run the service; each is covered by an appropriate data-processing agreement, and our AI provider does not train its models on your data.
How long we keep it
We are finalizing a specific retention period as part of our Data Processing Agreement work; until that is set, data is retained only for as long as needed to provide the service to the firm, and is deleted on request or on offboarding. If you want a specific answer today, ask the firm you contacted — they can request deletion from us at any time.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. If a law firm is the controller of your data (see above), please contact them directly, and they will coordinate with us as needed. If you contacted WasilX directly (e.g. as a prospective firm), email us at the address below.
AI disclosure
Calls and chats handled by WasilX are answered by an AI assistant, not a human, unless a live team member has taken over. This is disclosed at the start of the interaction. The AI does not give legal advice — it captures, qualifies, and routes your enquiry to the firm’s team.
